About Us

Criminal justice reform includes efforts to improve public safety thru the reform of 1) criminal statutes and sentencing guidelines, 2) expanding rehabilitation and reentry programs, 3) improving prison conditions, and 4) promoting public awareness of the need for criminal justice reform in Arizona. Our primary mission is to serve as a clearing house for information among organizations in Arizona working for criminal justice reform to facilitate cooperation, coordination and information sharing.

To further this purpose, the Arizona Project will:

  1. Identify and establish contacts with organizations and private individuals seeking to promote criminal justice reform;
  2. Publish information to the public about activities, meetings, conferences and other events promoting criminal justice reform;
  3. Sponsor, publish or republish research and other information relevant to criminal justice reform;
  4. Participate or present at meetings, seminars, conferences, and similar events promoting public awareness about the social and economic benefits of criminal justice reform; and
  5. Advocate for the reform of Arizona’s criminal justice system thru the adoption of policies and programs that enhance public safety thru alternatives to incarceration.

We are a 501(c)(3) non profit organization based in Prescott, Arizona. We have three Directors, and a General Counsel.
